MediaSIS Online Course

If you are a teacher and interested in refining your knowledge and skills about media and the Internet do register for the MediaSIS - Media and Digital Competences for Teachers.

The course is intended for teachers in any field from the undergraduate education, but the skills attained through this course can be of better use in the fields like social science, Romanian language and literature, foreign languages and natural science.

Traditional and digital media are integrated in the contemporary culture and represent an agent of socialization. This course is a possibility for teachers to train to include media education strategies and techniques to teach students and offer them life skills in an information society.

The course is made up of face to face and online sessions. The following training session will be available in 2013-2014, depending on the number of registrations.


Nicoleta Fotiade studied Journalism and graduated in 2006 with an MA in Communication at the University of Westminster in London, United Kingdom. She authored several tens of media research studies, coauthored two media education textbooks and several other supporting materials for teachers. She is founding member of ActiveWatch – Media Monitoring Agency Association and Coordinator of the Media Education Program since 2004.

Bogdan Manolea is interested in issues related to information technology law and digital civil rights. He writes about laws and Internet at since 2001. He authored more than a hundred presentations and articles on topics related to Law and Information Technology. He is Executive Director of the Association for Technology and Internet - APTI and also an Editor of biweekly EDRi-gram online newsletter on digital civil rights.

MediaSIS in Top12 Good Practices of 'Media Literacy in Europe' Magazine

Online magazine "Media Literacy in Europe" includes the MediaSIS training course among 12 other media education good practices this year - 12 Good Practices That Will Inspire You. Evens Foundations in Antwerp and JFF - Institute for Media Education and Media Research in Munich are the creators of the online platform.
