Despite the fact that over the last 20 years, Romanian society has made remarkable progress, numerous cases still arise, where journalists are censored and assaulted, and citizens are discouraged from protesting or denouncing abuses of the state institutions. We can change this situation if we speak freely and openly about the values of democracy and about those trying to deprive us of our fundamental rights.

A society is democratic when all of its citizens are able to speak freely.

A society is democratic when, in the public space, we can hear as many voices as possible and they do not need to be in agreement to one another.

A society is democratic when citizens can choose their sources of information themselves and make informed decisions.

A society is democratic when, whoever holds political and economic power, publicly undertakes responsibility for his/her actions and respects all citizens' right to an opinion.
